Privacy Policy

Balch Web is run by Isaac Balch. I build websites and AI agents (an AI phone receptionist, a website chat agent and lead follow-up automations) for local service businesses. This page explains what information I collect, why I collect it, who I share it with, and the choices you have. If you have a question about it, email balchweb@gmail.com.

Who This Covers

• Visitors and customers of Balch Web: people who use balchweb.com, contact me, or buy a website or an AI agent from me.
• People who talk to an AI agent I run for a business: callers to an AI phone receptionist, visitors who use a chat window, and people who get a text after calling. For those conversations I act on behalf of the business you contacted. That business decides what happens with your request, and its own privacy policy also applies.

What I Collect

• What you send me: your name, business name, email address, phone number and message, when you use a form on this site, email me or text me.
• Payments: payments are processed by Stripe. I receive your name, email address, business name, what you bought and whether the payment went through. Your card details are never handled by this site or by me.
• Chat conversations: the messages you type into a chat window I run, including the sample one on this site, and any name, phone number, email address or address you choose to give. The chat window keeps a random conversation ID in your browser so a conversation can continue if you reload the page.
• Phone calls to an AI phone receptionist: the number you call from, and a recording and transcript of the call. You are told at the start of every call that you are speaking to an AI assistant and that the call is recorded and transcribed. The receptionist asks for your name, a callback number, your address, what you need and how urgent it is.
• Text messages: your phone number and the texts sent to and from it.
• Basic technical information: the company that hosts this site keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested) to keep the site secure and running. This site does not use advertising trackers.

How I Use It

• To reply to you, prepare a proposal, and build and run the services you buy.
• To pass your details and request to the business you contacted, so that it can get back to you.
• To bill you and send receipts.
• To check that each agent answers correctly and keep its answers up to date, including a regular test call or test chat and reading conversation transcripts.
• To keep the services secure, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations.

I do not sell personal information, and I do not use it for advertising.

Who It Is Shared With

• The business you contacted, for calls, chats and texts handled by its agent.
• Service providers that run parts of the services for me: website hosting and form handling, payment processing (Stripe), email delivery, the AI language model providers that write the agent's replies, telephone and text message providers, and workflow and spreadsheet tools. They may use the information only to provide their service.
• Authorities, when the law requires it.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text message opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third party.

Text Messages

• Who gets texts: someone who has just called a business I serve and asked for a text back, and business owners who have asked for alerts about their own new leads. I do not send marketing texts or texts to people who have not asked for them.
• How often: message frequency varies. Usually it is one text for each missed call or new lead.
• Cost: message and data rates may apply.
• Stopping: reply STOP to stop receiving texts, or HELP for help. You can also email balchweb@gmail.com.

How Long I Keep It

I keep information only as long as I need it for the purposes above, or as long as the law requires, such as payment records for tax purposes. You can ask me to delete it sooner.

Your Choices

• Email balchweb@gmail.com to ask what information I hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. For a conversation with a business's agent, you can also ask that business.
• Reply STOP to any text to stop receiving texts.

I may need to keep some records when the law requires it.

Security

I take reasonable steps to protect the information I hold and limit who can see it. No method of storing or sending information is completely secure.

Children

These services are not meant for children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, I will update it here and change the date at the top.
